i just called the lady up to offer to put her plea up in our website. thank goodness she has found her Ollie a few days back. apparently, Ollie was found by a couple in KEPONG. *for those of you who wonders why i highlight the location KEPONG, it is because where Ollie lives (Damansara Heights), it is at least 40 minutes drive to KEPONG* the "founders" asked for money (but of course). |

yes Yee. because Ollie's poster says "Reward for finder". so these apparent rescuers did ask what the reward was. and since it was printed on the poster and Ollie was in their hands, of course Ollie's owners gave them their "reward" for finding and returning Ollie. |

I'm so pleased that Ollie has been found and returned to his owner. It's amazing how when a reward is offered that a lot of the times the dog will be found and returned. Jan. |

I must say she's quite lucky to have Ollie back. Missing animals especially purebred dogs are seldom returned. Sad to say that over here we still have a lot of people having 3rd world mentality even though we have the tallest buildings in the world. My neighbor lost his Pekingese few months ago. How far can this small breed travel? Maybe just down the road...but it was never found. :( |

No no..no sarcasm meant..over here when dogs go missing a lot of times they are never found or are found unfortunately dead somewhere. The ones that seem to get found very quickly are the ones when people know there is a reward offered. Over here it has also been known for dogs to be stolen and then offered back to the owners for a reward..a ransome.. It seems that if people know there is a reward and a good reward they will go and look for the missing dog. Not saying they always find them but they do seem to get found quicker and alive. Sometimes though it has also been known for the people that have found the dog to refuse the reward..good on them...the ones I like best are the ones that will pick a stray dog up and let the police know and rescues or take it to a rescue so that if the owners can be traced or put a report in that their dog has gone missing they know where to find the it. Jan.. just kidding.
:) yes yes, a reward definitely helps. but again, like in the UK, some people's sole purpose of living is to steal dogs and live on "dog found rewards". that's so sad. |

Over here there was a spate of people following people home when they were walking their dog/s. Then leaving a bottle or coke can or something like that either on the front garden wall or on the floor infront of the wall or fence, or even if the people with the dog had a car on the bumper of the car. The people that were going to steel the dog/s then knew which house to target. Sometimes these people will go to alsorts of extremes to get someones dog/s. One lady saw someone jump over her back garden fence and grab her little dog and give it to another person leaning over the fence and run off with it. The lady couldn't get to them in time to try to stop them, as far as I know she never got the dog back. There have also been cases of people being threatened with knives and hit whilst out on a walk with their dog/s and the dog/s stolen off them. Alot of dog walkers now try to go for a walk in groups for safety especially if the only place they have to take them is in an isolated area. These scum of the Earth are ones that will steel a dog to order. I'm so pleased this dog has been found but I do feel that if the reward hadn't of been offered he probably wouldn't be back home now. Especially as they asked for the money. No worries guys I had a feeling you were :kiss1: Jan. |
