Hi hi,

I know that we do not have alot of members in here. At the same time, we hope that our list of members are always active and with us.

So please read this carefully.

If you are inactive for 3 months in a row, your account will be deleted. An email will be sent to you, and a non-reply will cause your account in MY Pet Husky Club Forums to be deleted.

Thanks.

Regards,
filet0fish

guys.... i did the first round of "housekeeping". and to my surprise... ppl who don't post in the forums can reply and scold me wan! WOW!!!

i hv censored the name of this person, but i want you guys to know - if u think that we are an unfriendly forum, you can always request to be remove from the forums. the admins of the forums can do so. if you think that we are idiots hanging around the internet with nothing to do, you can also request to be remove. send an email to any of our "Committee Members".

we are a close-knit family... and we hope to maintain it that way.

name-censored, you can scold me all you want. Regarding your interest in being a member, we have members who do not own any dogs too, and they've registered their interest. They've even gone out with us to mingle around. But you have laid silence all the while. I have sent out an email dated 14 November 2006 (please check topic http://forums.mypethuskyclub.com/index.php?showtopic=219) regarding non-active members for the past 3 months.

We have got alot of people who just register for fun. Some all out of the love of dogs. Some just want to spy on what we are doing. Some - SPAMS! We do not know which is you. Hence, the notification.

I will understand your anger if you did not receive our first email on November 14, 2006. But even with that said, if you have visited our forums since, we have a topic dedicated to "account deletion". Oh, and you don't have to even be a member to read that topic. My guess is that you have not even visited our forums, and when you finally receive the "suspension" email - you got angry.

You can call us the most the "unfriendly" dog forums there is. Because I'm surprised that you can reply my email scolding me... and yet wouldn't introduce yourself in the forums. I think, I'm more disappointed in you.

Have fun in other forums.
Deby

=====================================================

If I not interested, why at first I register myself as a member?

So unfriendly dog forum. As I told you before in my first email, I never encounter such forums like yours. I don't own a dog ask me what to post. As I like to see doggies photos you guys post up in the forum. As I love dog so much but my family don't allow me to own one. Hopefully, when I move out I can own one dog for myself.

I also a register user in puppy.com, esclubmalaysia & lovdog.com. I also didn't post a message but never receive a message saying suspend the account.

I think I better stop here. This is your forum policy I also don't want to argue with you. If you think this is the right way to delete the account please go ahead. I have no problem as there are many friendly forum out there for me to hang around.

Dissapointed Ex-member

=====================================================
An email had been sent out to all our members, and an Announcement was also made in the forums to all our members since November 2006. Should a member be inactive for more than 3 months without any reasoning, his/her account would be suspended first. A follow-up email will be sent to the member to check if his/her interest is still with the forums. If it is not, it will be deleted. If he/she is still interested in the forums, the account will be unsuspended immediately. All the member need to do is reply and say that he/she is still interested in being a member.

Hence, if you still wish to keep your member account with the forums, let us know. If not, your account will be deleted after January 18 2007.

Thank you.

Regards,
deby

=====================================================

Why suspend my account?

I never encounter a forums that suspend member account without any reason.

i don't think i've ever made such a stern post. but i think we have to lay down some ground rules. our forums is too lenient without any rules. and when we start implementing rules, ppl panic, get angry, be mad.

oh... and guess what?? we've only got ONE rule!

When it comes to the crunch, its not the "quantity" that makes the number. Forum lurkers can be a real pain. They pop up from time to time to check things out and melt away if nothing catches their fancy. Over the past few months, I have met some really "quality" members who have shown so much interest, passion and enthusiasm as responsible pet owners.

That said, I must again maintain that this is a "private" forum, but that doesn't mean we are "elitist" or "discriminatory" towards people without dogs or simply nasty to owners of other breeds.

People sign up, ask question and they are treated with respect and most of their queries are handled with the best possible solutions.

So, no worries Deb, there are nasty folks out there who don't contribute. Best way to resolve this issue is to : "Terminate with extreme prejudice". Culling of "dead" accounts is the only way to maintain an efficient forum..

Sam :)

Stella & Oreo, where on God's green earth are you? COME HOME!!!

hi guys...

Deby, you are perfectly justified in deleting the bugger's account... It is impossible to run a forum without having rules and regulations, and it goes without saying that members of any sort of organization must abide by its rules and regulations to remain in membership.

Personally, I find the "Inactivity Act (Debychor) 2007" to be perfectly legitimate, because I also would like to have members who contribute, does not matter whether they own any kind of dog or animal or tree trunk. To be fair, one post in 'Members Introduction' would have sufficed.

Dear 'inactive' member,
If you have nothing to hide, why not just tell us a little something something about yourself?? It does not matter if you tell us you wear size 13 shoes for all I care, just as long as its something...

We do not want members who do not contribute, at all. We are not being unfriendly, in fact by 'forcing' people to post, we try to make the community friendly and chatty, with no strangers in our midst. Is it ever pleasant to have someone eavesdrop on your conversations? It feels the same here in the case of lurkers...

I think Deby has worked incredibly hard to make this forum, and PHC work. It has been blood, sweat and tears, and for her tremendous contribution, my heartfelt thanks. I would not have met the good friends I now have, and it has been fascinating to have someone to share a passion with. To be fair to Deby, in the least, we should at the very least be civil, and polite...

cheers,
Nadia & family

ps - Say hello so hard izzit??
